Seattle Flamenco | Home
Welcome to SeattleFlamenco.org!
This site is a resource for finding out about shows, events, performers and instructors in the Seattle area. Since it is not affiliated with any particular groups, performers, or instructors, Seattle Flamenco offers an online space for artists to work together to enrich Seattle's flamenco community and for flamenco enthusiasts (both local and abroad) to learn more about what the Seattle flamenco scene has to offer.
This site includes:
- User updatable show listings via open Wordpress blogs open to all professional and amateur groups and performers.
- User updatable event listings via open Wordpress blogs for upcoming classes, workshops, & conferences.
- A user modifiable Wiki of Seattle area performers and groups.
- A user modifiable Wiki of Seattle area instructors.
- A forum for the Seattle Flamenco community (and anyone else who wishes to chime in!).
Why?
First and foremost, to offer Seattle flamenco artists and aficionados a neutral online space to come together and build a sense of community outside of individual classes or groups. This site is also intended as a resource for those interested in flamenco but still "outside of the loop." The idea is to make flamenco in Seattle easier to find—and easier to enjoy. Will all of this work? We shall see!
How?
As in: how to stay updated on flamenco goings-on in the Seattle area and how to get involved with the SeattleFlamenco.org community?
Staying Up to Date:
The links in the sidebar (just to the right) allow you to subscribe to email updates or RSS updates of new show, event, and forum postings. Email updates are sent no more than once daily and only go out when there are new posts. And, of course, your email address won't be used for any other purposes. RSS updates will let you read site updates in your own feed reader—and will also let you publish feeds to your own site or your Facebook or Twitter page.
Getting Involved:
Publish a show or event, comment on a show or event, update artist or performer information, or drop in to the forum and say what's on your mind. You can also re-publish RSS feeds on your own page or social networking service and, perhaps the easiest and most helpful thing: just let other services and organizations know that SeattleFlamenco.org is out here, trying to help build community and promote local flamenco in the Seattle area
Comments?
If you have any comments on anything you see here, feel free to email the SeattleFlamenco.org administrator at admin@seattleflamenco.org. Or—better yet!—head over to the forum and say what's on your mind. This site truly is intended to be a community resource and in order for that to be the case, the community has to speak up!
